TAMPA, Fla. (July 31, 2026) - It's official. Tampa Bay Terror FC is a Major League Indoor Soccer club.

The league announced today that the Terror will compete in MLIS beginning with the 2026-27 season, moving up from MLISX, the league's second division, after one season.

One season. That's how long it took.

Tampa Bay becomes the second Florida club in MLIS, joining Orlando Atletico Pro up I-4. If you've been waiting for a reason to care about indoor soccer in this state, you just got one. There's a rivalry sitting 84 miles away and neither side is going to pretend otherwise.

"Nobody in our building is surprised," said Andrew Quijano, owner of Tampa Bay Terror FC. "MLISX was a season, not a stop. We've been training for this level since the day we opened the doors, so today doesn't really change anything on our end. Same standard. Better opponents. We'll see how the rest of the league handles it."

MLIS commissioner Bernie Lilavois welcomed the club, noting that the path from MLISX up to MLIS is a deliberate part of how the league is built, and that adding a second Florida club alongside Orlando strengthens the league's footing in a serious soccer market.

Here's what promotion actually means. Better opponents. Louder nights. A higher bar for everyone wearing purple and pink. The people who showed up last season when nobody was watching turned this club into something the league had to take seriously. That crowd built this. That crowd comes with us.
